The Australian Centre of Further Education, ACFE is a Registered Training Organization, RTO established in January 2009 which accepted its first group of students in July 2010. Initially, ACFE only offered the IRON, Initial Registration of Overseas Nurses Program.
The Australian Centre of Further Education, ACFE is an accredited IRON Program education provider in Australia. The program and delivery of this program is approved by the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Australia, ANMAC and the Australian Health and Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
The purpose of this program is to provide overseas trained nurses with skills and knowledge required by AHPRA to meet the Australian Nursing and Midwifery competency standards to practice as Registered Nurses (RN) or Enrolled Nurses (EN) in Australian Health Care setting.
Till date, ACFE has produced more than 300 graduates of the IRON Program and boasts a high rate of employability of its graduates. It has become one of the most reliable and respectable education providers of the IRON Program in Australia.
In November 2013, ACFE initiated the Work Training Program for Nurses (WTPN) under the Occupational Traineeship Visa (sub Class 402). The WTPN gave more options for overseas trained nurses who gained their RN qualifications in Australia. ACFE is an approved subclass visa 402 by the Australian Department of Immigration and Border Protection.
In 2014, ACFE successfully gained accreditations as Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and CRICOS provider offering Certificate III in Aged Care and Advanced Diploma in Nursing (EN).
In the same year, the Victorian government awarded ACFE with the VTG, Victorian Training Guarantee Funding. This allows ACFE to offer courses to the Australian domestic market supported by the Victorian government.
In 2015, ACFE is expected to offer more scopes to add to its program including
- Diploma in Nursing (EN)
- Certificate IV in Aged Care
- Certificate III and IV in Health Administrator
- Certificate III and IV in Disability Care
- Certificate III and IV in Home and Community Care
ACFE will continue to serve both the International and Domestic market in various areas of Health and Community Services.
The Australian Centre of Further Education offers many courses like IRON including RN, EN and Return to Practice. The purpose of these programs is to provide those nurses required by AHPRA with the skills and knowledge to meet the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Competency (ANMC) standards to practice as Registered Nurses or Enrolled Nurses in the Australian Health Care Settings.
Other courses offered are Certificate III in Aged Care, Advanced Diploma of Nursing and Work Training Program for Nurses.
