WHEN you think of Dosa, what is the first place in Melbourne that comes to your mind?
Probably Dosa Hut! It has become so popular that it needs no introduction. With around 1000 people visiting each day, it has become the haunt of many since last 7 years.
Situated at Barkly Street in Footscray, Dosa Hut caters to the need of many residents as well as commuters. But it is not only the location that matters but the quality of food served at a very reasonable price is what matters the most.
Opened in partnership by Mr Parveen and Mr Anil in 2007, Dosa Hut has now become the most frequented restaurant of many. Both Parveen and Anil are from a different background and came to Australia to study Telecommunication. Along with academics, both had a passion for food especially for South Indian food and wanted to start something South-Indian in Melbourne as there were not many places serving authentic South-Indian cuisine at that time.
The speciality of Dosa Hut is Dosa and Biryani and you can find 90 types of Dosas to choose from. The Biryani as the customers say is just lip-smacking. There are other mouth-watering Indo-Chinese dishes as well which are worth trying.
As Kiran, one of the customer says,
“It’s been three years now that I am visiting Dosa Hut and I am just loving it. The taste has remained excellent and consistent.”

Dosa Hut is open 7 days from 11 AM to 11 PM. And the good news is Dosa Hut is soon going to be opened in Tarneit and Dandenong.
